Synopsis: Based on the true life attempt by Joe Simpson and Simon Yates to climb the Peruvian mountain Siula Grande in 1985. They reached the summit but during the descent Simpson fell and broke his leg. Yates lowered him by rope for some distance and then lost contact when Simpson slid over an overhanging surface and was suspended over a crevice. Facing apparently certain death, Simpson's will to live led him to endure a solo journey to safety. Mixes documentary with dramatic reconstructions.
